SIUE Executive Education Offers Project Management Workshops

Essential Writing Skills for Project Success is a training program that meets on four-consecutive Fridays (half-days). It is designed to provide the knowledge and tools needed to communicate effectively in any circumstance (regardless of the message or the audience) with an emphasis on successfully creating common project management documents.

Instruction is supported by an exceptional textbook/writing guide filled with dynamic illustrations that will make it a favorite “go to” reference.

Learn the basics and best practices of project management and prepare for the PMP® certification. Successful completion awards the 35 educational hours required for the PMP® certification exam.

Dr. Tim Jacks of the SIUE Computer Management and Information Systems Department will lead this workshop on addressing the impacts of cyber security to projects in the workplace. The workshop will discuss these questions: What does a cyber attack do to re-prioritize projects? What part of the business is most important? Do I treat all information the same? As part of the risk management process, is everything worthy of protecting or defending? What are the levels of priorities? How do we identify business cost vs. value chain? What’s the risk of getting in and what’s the cost of that risk? How do we conduct risk assessment vs. risk management?

Raygene Patterson, PMP, CBAP, CSM will lead an in-depth discussion on Solution Analysis related to business analysts. The workshop will be divided into four parts:

Spend a day with John Laverdure, a senior program manager at Hewlett Packard, to learn the tricks and tips to make these conversations successful and less painful.

This seminar will explore the many ways people differ in an organization and how to recognize those differences while still effectively and efficiently accomplishing your project goals. Of note, multigenerational workforces, gender differences and personality/decision making differences will be discussed
