Southern Illinois University Edwardsville alumna Kathleen Dwyer is one of 108 teachers nationwide to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Dwyer earned a master of science in education from SIUE in 2001.
Dwyer teaches at Maplewood Richmond Heights High School in Maplewood, Mo. As part of this honor, she will receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.
