The Illinois State Board of Education has named SIUE alumna and Edwardsville High School special education teacher Susan Converse the 2019 Teacher of the Year.
Converse earned a bachelor’s in mass communications in 1991, and a master’s in both education in 2001 and educational administration in 2003, all from SIUE.
Her teaching career and award win were detailed in an article posted Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the Edwardsville Intelligencer.
