A business expo and musical celebration kicked off Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Black Heritage Month on Friday, Feb. 1.
This year’s theme is “Our Powerful Purpose.” Amelia Williams, a senior majoring in biological sciences, is the Black Heritage Month Campus Activities Board (CAB) chair. Kimberly Pope is the graduate assistant for the SIUE CAB Black Heritage Month committee.
“I am very excited about all of the events that SIUE has planned for Black Heritage Month,” said Alexa Bueltel, Campus Life coordinator for the Kimmel Student Involvement Center. . “It is important to take time this month and every month to celebrate the contributions of the black community.”
SIUE’s 19th annual Black Heritage Month continues with a host of upcoming activities.
