Too Many Sopranos dress rehearsal 3-21-13Singing and dancing will take center stage Sunday, Nov. 3, as the SIUE Friends of Theater and Dance (FOTAD) present Janie Adamson’s For Love or Money: A Cabaret, an evening of great entertainment for FOTAD’s Annual Dinner Theater.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. The cabaret starts at 7 p.m., and dinner will be served shortly thereafter.

Entering a new era that focuses on SIUE’s talented theater and dance majors, FOTAD has changed from its traditional autumn mystery dinner theater. “We felt it was time to showcase the wonderful students who are learning theater and dance skills here in our own backyard,” said Kate Slovinski, FOTAD president. “Our mission is to award scholarship funds to these students, so why not show the world why we love these kids so much.

“I think the patrons who enjoyed the mystery dinner theater events of the past will enjoy this new cabaret style we’re presenting.”

FOTAD is the support organization for the Department of Theater and Dance. Proceeds from the Nov. 3 event will benefit the organization’s scholarship fund for SIUE theater and dance majors. The deadline for reservations is today. The entertaining cabaret will take place in the University Restaurant in the Morris University Center.

Tickets are still $40 per person and include a full dinner. For reservation via credit card, call the SIUE Fine Arts box office at (618) 650-2774 or from St. Louis toll-free at (888) 328-5168, Ext. 2774.
