The Village of Godfrey is collaborating with the Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the Metro East at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to host the Social Media and Marketing Tools for Small Business seminar from 12-1 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 at Godfrey Village Hall, 6810 Godfrey Rd.

Please register in advance for the free seminar, by visiting ilsbdc.ecenterdirect.com/events/31278.

Prior to the seminar, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., local business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to meet confidentially with SBDC small business advisors about their business or idea.

“This is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs and business owners to discover the valuable business resources the SBDC has to offer, said Jo Ann Di Maggio May, director of the Illinois SBDC for the Metro East at SIUE. “We appreciate the Village of Godfrey and Economic Development Director Jim Mager serving as our hosts. It truly takes a team effort to help small businesses survive and thrive.”

The SBDC for the Metro East, assists entrepreneurs as well as existing business owners operating in the nine-county Metro East region of Calhoun, Jersey, Madison, Bond, Clinton, St. Clair, Washington, Monroe and Randolph. It enhances the region’s economic interests by providing one-stop assistance to individuals by means of counseling, training, research and advocacy for new ventures and existing small businesses.

SBDC’s in Illinois are funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Small Business Administration, Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville as a service to the community. To learn how these no-cost services may help your business venture, contact the Metro East SBDC at (618) 650-2929 or sbdcedw@gmail.com.
