SIUE will face Kentucky in Lexington, for the first round of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament. The game is set for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (CT) at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.

SIUE’s first round game will be broadcast on SEC Network+ and ESPN3.com.

Kentucky is the No. 3 seed in the region, boasting a record of 15-6. Kentucky lost in the Southeastern Conference championship game to Texas A&M, but received an at-large bid to the tournament.

“We would have been excited to go anywhere, but it’s exciting to have a chance to play a really good opponent,” said Head Coach Derek Burton. “They run a great program and have a great coach.”

The 64-team field will compete in a single-elimination tournament with the final round located in Boca Raton, Fla.

The Cougars advanced to the tournament with their first Ohio Valley Conference championship Sunday, moving their overall record to 13-6-1.
