In honor of their achievements and dedication to the teaching profession, a number of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville alumni received 2014 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards. They were among 99 local educators honored.
The recipients were selected by their schools’ administration. They now have the opportunity to apply for a Gold Star Grant from Emerson. The competitive grants fund educational projects in technology, innovation and leadership.
“Emerson is proud to recognize and celebrate the St. Louis area’s most dedicated educators for their endless commitment to educating and helping our students achieve the highest level of success,” said Patrick J. Sly, Emerson executive vice president. “These outstanding individuals have laid the foundation for our students to become future leaders who enable our communities to grow and prosper.”
