Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Cougar Village hosted the 13th Annual Run Walk and Roll on Saturday, Oct. 20 at The Gardens at SIUE. Sixty participants helped raise breast cancer awareness. Proceeds were donated to the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.

Every hour, 365 days a year, someone is affected by breast cancer. Despite years of research and many new medical breakthroughs, breast cancer is still a vicious killer that strikes women and men without warning.

Thankfully, breast cancer patients now have better treatment options, advanced screenings, and know that early detection is a necessity.

“It was wonderful to see so many people come out and race for such a worthy cause during breast cancer awareness month,” said Cougar Village Assistant Community Director Cory Harlan. “We are proud to host this great event.”
