SIUE Chancellor Julie Furst-Bowe presents the 2013 Paul Simon Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award to Dr. Andrew Pomerantz on Tuesday.

Dr. Andy Pomerantz was honored today during the 17th annual Paul Simon Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award Luncheon. Pomerantz, a professor of psychology in the SIUE School of Education, is the director of the Clinical-Adult Psychology graduate program at the University.

As the 2013 recipient of the prestigious award, Pomerantz was presented the honor by last year’s awardee, George Engel, professor of electrical and computer engineering in the SIUE School of Engineering. The luncheon took place in the Morris University Center Meridian Ballroom.

Last year’s Paul Simon Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award recipient spoke Tuesday during the annual luncheon.

The luncheon was one of several events that took place Monday and Tuesday as part of the University’s 17th annual Graduate School Spring Research Symposium. Events focused on scholarship, research, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives.

Members of the SIUE community gathered Tuesday for the Paul Simon Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award Luncheon.
